It’s a cold snowy morning. You’ve brushed the snow off your car and now you’re cold. You just want to get the car started and be on your way so you can get the heater warmed up to warm you up. You turn the key and the motor makes a slow labored grinding sound then nothing. You go to the wife’s van and turn the key and whir-whir is all you get.
Now you find yourself with the hood up in the cold with one end of a pair of jumper cables hooked to your dead battery and you are flailing the other end wildly in the cold hoping one of your neighbors will take pity on you. If only you had remembered to get new batteries for your van or car .
The only problem is, they have the same idea you had. They just want to get moving and get their car heater warmed up. As the last of your neighbors shrugs driving past you, you realize you are now late. Soon it’s going to be a phone call to an angry boss about why you are not going to make it to work on time. At least that heated conversation will be enough to warm you up now that most of your body feels like ice cream from the freezer. It will feel like melted ice cream as it thaws out too.
Winter is coming and old batteries don’t hold up well in the cold. Don’t forget to get new batteries for your van or car. The last thing you need is to be stuck somewhere with a dead battery. If you’re like most of us long exposure to the cold in the winter is not a pleasurable experience. Especially, if like most people, you dressed to spend that time in warmth of your car.
While you’re at it you may as well check you fluids, change the oil, and be sure you have the proper air pressure in your tires. You don’t want one of those things to let you down this winter either. If it is already winter where you are: Don’t wait check these things right away.
